DESCRIPTION:The California Strawberry Festival celebrates its 40th year and we’re looking forward to an exciting\, family friendly weekend of fun and flavor that pays tribute to Ventura County’s robust\, world-leading strawberry industry. Guided by an all-volunteer board\, the California Strawberry Festival is a 501c3 organization that gives back to the community through four postsecondary scholarship programs and weekend fundraising opportunities for more than 30 local non-profit groups. To date\, the Festival has raised more than $5 million to fund these causes. \nThe non-profit Festival draws more than 50\,000  attendees from across SoCal by serving up a delectable strawberry delights\, 150 arts & crafts booths\, live entertainment\, contests for berry lovers of all ages\, carnival rides\, and more. Weekend event hours are 10:00am – 6:30pm. \nCustomers enjoy free park ‘n’ ride Strawberry Express Shuttle Service from convenient locations off the 101 freeway. There is also limited customer parking on site for $30. General admission is $15\, seniors 62+ are $10 and children ages 5-12 are $8. Kids 4 and under are free. DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the 30th Annual Burlingame On The Avenue\, coming August 2024 in the upscale Community and City of Burlingame\, located on the Peninsula. The event will be staged on Burlingame Avenue and surrounding streets. The Festival features music of popular genres from some of the best Bay Area Jazz\, Rock and Blues bands. \n                   \n\n\n\n\nInteresting History:  Once part of a Spanish land grant given by Governor Pio Pico to repay a debt to his friend\, Cayetano Arenas\, and then the location of a San Francisco banker’s vision of a “sacrosanct colony\,” Burlingame later became the site of the first country club in California — this is the distinct heritage of Burlingame.\nDuring the 1860s\, William C. Ralston\, a prominent banker\, and partner in the development of the Comstock Lode\, purchased vast acreage on the Peninsula for a grand estate. He appreciated the Peninsula’s warm\, tranquil setting of oak-clad\, rolling hills nestled between San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Coastal Range. \n \nAnson Burlingame \n\nOne of the first of many famous guests to his estate was the Honorable Anson Burlingame\, who had recently been appointed by President Lincoln as United States Minister to China. Ralston showed his guest the portion of his estate set aside for the summer homes of his wealthy friends. So impressed was Burlingame with the locale that he chose a villa site of approximately 1\,043 acres for himself\, to be used after his retirement from the China mission. \nThe attractive name “Burlingame” was now on the property maps and in the news because of the “Burlingame Treaty” with China. \nThe Burlingame Country Club was founded in 1893 and a year later the Burlingame Post Office opened\, making the name official. \nAs more and more people came to the area and recognized its gentle charms\, they chose to stay and soon Burlingame was a flourishing village. Following the 1906 San Francisco earthquake people continued to settle in Burlingame and by 1908 it became incorporated as a municipal corporation of the sixth class\, “The Town of Burlingame\,” later reclassified the City of Burlingame.

DESCRIPTION:  \nThis setting is pretty much one of our all time favorites.  Enjoy the Memorial Day Parade!  Bishop is definitely a spot where one can experience the “old timey” feel. \nThe four day Memorial Day Arts and Crafts Show runs in conjunction with the Mule Days celebration\, which brings an estimated 30\,000 people to Bishop each year. The show features quality handcrafted items and fine arts. Approximately 100 artists sell photography\, jewelry\, woodworking\, watercolors\, sculpture\, clothing\, and much more. Food vendors keep the crowd satisfied with a variety of foods and shaved ice. Free musical entertainment is provided throughout the day on Sunday. The show is held annually in the Bishop City Park. The lovely creekside setting of our park attracts visitors and keeps shoppers lingering at our shows.   \n
